I commenced my formal art training and practice after I retired. Proceeding this as a lifetime interest I pursued several art courses in general and life drawing, painting, botanical art and sculpture. In the early 90's I attended the National Art School Darlinghurst Sydney graduating with a Batchelor of Fine Arts in 2013.
This involvement at NAS provided the opportunity to study art history and practically explore most areas of fine art in a creative and stimulating environment. I majored in printmaking, producing a range of lithograpghs based on the landscape of the old NSW gold mining town Hill End, and was awarded a months residency at the art facility at Sydney Olympic Park, then completed another residency on the Greek island of Skopolas.
Since then I continued my artistic training in acrylic painting and ceramics at the Ku-ring-gai Art Centre, and working from my home studio to produce art. With my natural interest in nature and the environment, my subject matter is a visual recording influenced by this producing paintings depicting landscapes, and nature that inspires me. My ceramics are of a sculptural form, ranging from life studies to abstract forms. I enjoy the tactility of clay to produce objects and effects glazes produce.
I am a resident of Sydney and exhibit my work at local art shows and exhibitions.
